Hinxton Watermill Appeal

Urgent Appeal – Help Keep Hinxton Watermill Open

A watermill has stood on the River Cam at Hinxton for over 1,000 years. In the 1980s, we saved the derelict mill from demolition and painstakingly restored it to working order. Today, it remains one of the last operational watermills in Cambridgeshire - a rare and beautiful part of our rural heritage.

But its riverside location, combined with the power of the elements, means this Grade II listed building is in urgent need of repair. Without essential works, we’ll no longer be able to open its doors safely to visitors.

We must raise £20,000 to repair the brickwork above and below the mill bridge, preserve the structure, and keep the wheels turning for generations to come.

Your support will help safeguard this unique mill, enabling vital conservation work and allowing us to continue welcoming the public on our rare and magical open days.

Please donate whatever you can today via the QR code or at www.cambridgeppf.org/support-us/ to help save this extraordinary piece of local history.
