Local Information
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The village pub is the Red Lion Inn, a privately owned free house pub restaurant with bed & breakfast accommodation that has resided at the heart of the pretty conservation village of Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, since the 16th Century.
This historic, Grade II listed building provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying fabulous food and drink, in the company of friends, family and colleagues. Exposed beams, well stoked fires and Chesterfield sofas invite you to stay a while and relax, while an impressive oak, dry peg extension is an elegant, spacious room in which to dine.
In the warmer months, the inn’s quintessentially English, Cambridge walled garden is a tranquil setting in which to eat, drink and socialise under the watchful gaze of the dovecote and village church clock tower.
The menu comprises contemporary and traditional dishes, created with culinary flair and using only the freshest, locally sourced seasonal produce.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

The mobile library
2nd Monday of each month 12.10-12.30pm
The mobile library is a wonderful resource that visits Babraham once a month. We visit on the 2nd Monday of each month 12.10-12.30pm, parking on the High Street near to the George Inn. We have a great selection of books suitable for all, including a full range of children's books, a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books for adults, including many titles in large print and spoken word format. You can reserve books to be collected from us as well. We also distribute free NHS hearing aid batteries and walking stick ferrules as well as having lots of jigsaws that you can take. As part of Cambridgeshire Libraries you can use your library card on board or we will happily sign you up. Come and see what we have to offer.
