Construction:

  • We officially marked the start of construction with our breaking ground ceremony in March. Thank you to those who joined us, it was fantastic to have you there to mark the moment.
  • As you may be aware, a tower crane was installed on the expansion site last month. A second tower crane will be installed over the weekend of 9 May 2026.
    • This will involve a number of deliveries to the site. The work is being carried out over the weekend to ensure minimal disruption.
    • Like last time, there will be designated traffic marshals in place, and we don’t anticipate any significant noisy works.
  • Some additional weekend construction work will be taking place within the Campus over the weekends of 17 May, 23 May and 30 May 2026. The works will be taking place to footpaths and a roundabout at the main entrance of the Campus, past the entry barriers, so we don’t expect these works to impact residents, but we wanted to keep you informed.
  • The relevant authorities have been informed of the above works.
  • We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions, please email: hello@wellcomegenomecampus.com

Energy farm application:

  • We are preparing to submit an application for the energy farm on the expansion land, which we have previously spoken to you about. This is likely to be submitted in coming weeks
  • We are in the process of finalising additional visuals and documents to support the proposal, and we are excited to share these with you soon.
